Boat Garage Door Height

It is sure nice to back your boat down with the bimini and tower up.

Boat garage door height. That would be a lot of work to modify that to accept an 8 foot garage door especially with the masonry work that would need to be performed. Unknown though go at least 7 2. One thing is to see what size boats are common in your area and that are stored at home and not at a marina or boat yard. Do we have any idea how tall a boat will be when it s on a trailer measured from ground to top of tower.

General boating discussion need various boat heights on their trailer i currently have a 20 x 30 garage which i can easily extend to accomodate a longer boat but the garage door is only 8 which yields a 7 9 usable height. There is a restriction that i can t have higher than 10 feet walls on the garage which would mean about a 9 door at max. But you might want 26 or 28 to handle 20 24 ft boats. The bow of the boat clears the door about 18.

If you can go ahead and get a tall garage door so you don t have to mess with lowering the tower everytime you are putting your boat up. I think that a 24 deep garage would hold an 18 ft boat with standard trailer. Just the cost to raise the door height on my storage garage which is a post frame building was prohibitive and that is just metal and because the ceiling was built to accommodate a 7 foot door not an 8.
